Things to Keep in Mind
The Ministry of External Affairs legalises the documents only after the attestation of the designated signing authorities of the respective institution/administration/Chamber of Commerce of the State/Union Territory, which is why it is advised that the applicant thoroughly check their documents for any mistake or change before submitting them to either the E Sanad portal or the Outsourcing Agency.
No document is directly accepted from persons at the Ministry of External Affairs Counter at CPV Division, Patiala House Annexe, New Delhi, as a result of outsourcing of the receipt and delivery of papers for attestation/Apostille as of July 2012. Along with a photocopy of the document and a photocopy of the applicant’s passport, the original document or true copy must be delivered directly to one of the four outsourced service providers. It would be essential to note that the Ministry does not consider photocopies legitimate documents. Apostille and attestation services should not be relied upon by applicants from unreliable sources.
